Vanzig Records is an Independent Record Label interested in Supporting Independent Artists

Carly and I are busy writing on numerous projects. We decided to release all of our material on our own independent record label, Vanzig Records, as an extension of Vanzig Studios. Vanzig Records will organize, maintain and track all data right from beginning in order to understand the mindset of an independent record label.

Vanzig Records will be exploring alternative distribution outside of typical outlets such as CD Baby & Distrokid as well as re-releasing previously released music, which entails pulling music down from places like Spotify, moving it and putting it back up. The intention is to experience what an independent record label would experience handling a roster’s music and then explaining these processes so others can perform tasks independently and comfortably without feeling anxious about paying someone.

I think it is so important for bands & solo artists to know and fully understand why labels operate the way do. Record labels can be a tremendous asset in order to help facilitate a thriving music career, but labels can easily be a limp dick, pointless vanity or worse the slickest ruthless pick pocket that would make Bernie Madoff look like a dollar store shoplifter.

Will Vanzig Records Release Your Music?

Honestly probably not. If we were to put our stamp on something then it would have to be beyond Atlantis Unicorn special. Our time is sacred & extremely thin. Giving another independent artist the same attention we would give ourselves would take us away from completing other tasks.

We also do not have it in ourselves to give a subpar work ethic to a hardworking artist. But if Vanzig Studios was able to become profitable enough where we can make this our sole employment then I can definitely see taking on other independent artists.

The objective is to research & help other independent artists by doing, fucking up, fixing and repeating to succeed. I truly believe Vanzig Records’s role in your music career is best served at this time as an information middle man. We’ll put the time into learning and then disseminating our knowledge into an extremely digestible format.

Who is on the Vanzig Records Roster?

Currently the two bands on the independent record label roster are Misfit Saints and Midnight Mob. There are two other bands that will be added to this roster hopefully late 2022.

Misfit Saints had an EP & various singles streaming on all platforms. All music has been taken down, to be remastered and re-released Fall 2022 under Vanzig Records with new art and pushing for press.

Midnight Mob has two EP’s, Black Moon Rising (2013) and Honest Brutal Glorious (2016) streaming on all platforms and a third self titled EP only streaming on Bandcamp. The EP’s, Black Moon Rising and Honest Brutal Glorious, are also distributed through CD Baby and ReverbNation respectively. The plan is to consolidate the material and distribute through one platform.

How do I Contact Vanzig Records?

Does Vanzig Records have Social Media?

The short answer is not at this time, but at some point Vanzig Records will be on Bandcamp as an independent record label. All Vanzig Records updates will be posted directly on this page in blog form and small pieces of each blog post will be posted through Vanzig Studios social media.

A Mail Chimp account has also been created in order to establish a mailing list. My intention is to use the mailing list as an alternative notification system for those that prefer email or do not participate in social media.

I do believe an independent record label should maintain a proper mailing list in order to connect with its subscribers, but we will get there when we get there.
